In Conversation: The Life and Legacy of David Goldblatt with MCA Chief Curator Rachel Kent and Paul Weinberg.

Veolia Lecture Theatre, level 2
2-3.30pm

As part of the opening of South African photographer David Goldblatt's (1930–2018) major retrospective at the MCA, hear from MCA Chief Curator Rachel Kent as she speaks with South African photographer, archivist and curator Paul Weinberg on the life and legacy of the late artist.

A close family friend, Paul knew David for over 30 years and worked with him on many projects, including co-founding the Ernest Cole Award in 2011 for creative photography in southern Africa with an emphasis on human rights and social change. Sharing a passion in documenting apartheid ‘beyond the headlines’ the two worked alongside each other in photographing the people and places of their country.
