‘The Life World’ screening: Part of Conversation Starters 2019: Temperature Rising

Lecture theatre: Level 2

Witness a fascinating insight into the practice of artist Janet Laurence.
The Life Word: An intimate portrait of artist Janet Laurence traces the inspiration and creation of Laurence's public installations: from the Olympic site at Homebush Bay and the amazing Central Synagogue Widows in Sydney to the Australian War Memorial in London's Hype Park and Melbourne's new CH2 building. Using elements of the environment, the artist reveals the hidden beauty and dangerous fragility of both the natural and cultural worlds.

Following the screening a Q&A with guest speaker will occur, reflecting on the themes and ideas explored in the documentary.
Presented as a part of Conversation Starters 2019: Temperature Rising, a weekend of art, discussion and action.
